K-Cup lead times you can plan around

First runs take longer than reorders because artwork, roast approval, and line scheduling all stack. Here is how we typically sequence a launch from our Sunrise facility so your launch date is realistic.

First production run

Expect discovery and spec lock, then samples, then production. Custom lids and cartons add print lead time before we can seal and pack.

  • Week 1-2: Specs, MOQ, and packaging decisions
  • Week 3-5: Samples, cupping, and artwork proof
  • Week 6-12: Print, fill, QA release, and ship
  • Rush options depend on open line capacity

What slows a launch

Late dielines, missing organic certificates, multi-SKU artwork, and unfinished cup weight targets are the usual delays. Lock those early and the schedule holds.

  • Incomplete lid or carton artwork
  • Unapproved roast or blend profile
  • Certification paperwork for organic or claims
  • Adding SKUs after the schedule is set

Reorders and packaging-only

Repeat fills with the same formula and packaging move faster. Lid-only or box-only orders follow print calendars and MOQs of about 10,000 lids or 1,000 boxes.

  • Keep SKU specs frozen for fastest reorder
  • Order lids and boxes ahead of fill if inventory is tight
  • Seasonal peaks (Q4 retail) book earlier

Frequently asked questions

How long does a first K-Cup run take?

Most first programs land in the 8-12 week range including approvals. Complex multi-SKU or custom print programs can run longer.

How fast are reorders?

When formula, lid, and carton are unchanged, reorders often ship in about 4-6 weeks, subject to line schedule.

Do lids and boxes add time?

Yes. Custom printed lids and cartons need artwork approval and print lead time before filling. Plan packaging in parallel with roast approval.

Can I get a date-specific commitment?

After we review volume, SKU count, and packaging status on the quote form, we share a production window you can put on a launch calendar.

Request a quote or book a discovery call. MOQs typically start at 5,000 pods per SKU.
